We are pleased to reveal our stunning new t-shirts for the 2018 series. It’s a better quality shirt and all of the sizes are unisex. Scroll down to see the sizing chart so you get the right fit for you.
These are technical shirts, so play on the safe side and go a little bigger if you’re unsure.
The event will start and finish in front of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
With this being a very early start, public transport will be intermittent depending on where you are coming in from. Please check local bus and tram timetables.
If you are driving to the event then the Paradise Circus car park will be open to use. Please note that normal parking charges will apply.
Every runner is required to wear their Sunrise City 5k t-shirt while taking part as this identifies you as a participant in the event.
If you’d like to give yourself a bit more time in bed, then you can collect your t-shirt the day before the event between 10am and 5pm.
The venue for t-shirt collection is Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
Given the nature of the event, we ask that you arrive ready to run as there is no bag storage available unfortunately.
Toilets within the Repertory Theatre will be available on the morning of the event.
If you have already collected your t-shirt then you have everything you need. Just gather near the theatre and you’ll be led to the start line when it’s time to run.
If you do need to collect a shirt or would like to register on the day, then please visit registration which is located inside the theatre and our team will look after you.
You can download a full sized version of the map by clicking the button at the top of the page.
Please note that Sunrise City is different to your normal running event. We don’t close roads, there are no barriers and the event isn’t timed. We may have some traffic management in place to help with key crossings, so please ensure that you cross at the designated points.
We appreciate that when you’re out running, you don’t like to stop, but please be aware of everything around you and don’t expect vehicles or other path users to get out of your way. If you need to stop to remain safe, please do so.
At the end of your run, you will receive a fantabulous medal and a bottle of water.
Please be sure to send us your photos to become part of the family and share your experiences with us on social media.
We are delighted to be working with When You Wish Upon a Star as our official charity in Birmingham. Please read on for more information about the charity.
When You Wish Upon a Star is a Nottingham founded charity dedicated to granting the special Wishes of children living with a life threatening illness, making their dreams come true.
Our Wishes have the power to transform the lives of the children and families we work with and since 1990, we have proudly granted over 17,500 across the UK. We believe every child deserves to smile and with your support we can give children and their families something to look forward to through times of uncertainty and often financial as well as emotional strain. Wishes allow the family to put their child’s illness on hold as they have fun and create precious memories together.
With the charity’s help every December children are able to swap hospital wards for sleigh rides as they go on a magical adventure to Lapland to meet Father Christmas. The special trips every year are made possible not only from the dedicated support of our supporters but also by the wonderful team of doctors and paramedics that join us to meet Father Christmas.
Every donation we receive, big or small, brings a poorly child’s Wish closer to being granted.
